Terms and Conditions

This is an agreement between The Dog and Spoon and the said party.

The Dog and Spoon accept to board the dog(s) for a period of (said) days agreed by the owner.

No booking will be accepted without proof that your dog(s) are fully vaccinated along with kennel cough (please refer to our website for timings for vaccinations before they can holiday with us).

No collection: If a period of 4 days passes without collection of the pet after the agreed collection date and there has been no communication from the owner, Dog and Spoon may rehome your dog(s) to recoup any losses.

Payment: We accept cash and bank transfers. A non-refundable admin fee of £50 must be paid to secure the room within 7 days of the booking being made, nonpayment could lead to the risk of losing your booking. All dates are confirmed at the time of booking, should you wish to alter these dates we must receive a minimum of 30 days’ notice, or the full booking fee will apply. If we are unable to accept your dog(s) at the time of check-in through no fault of our own, then the full booking fee must still be paid. This includes out-of-date vaccinations, ill or aggressive dogs.  Once the admin fee has been paid, the dates booked are non-transferable or non-refundable, by paying this admin fee you are agreeing to these terms and conditions and your booking with us is secured.

No refunds will be made in the case of early collection or late check-in, the dates you book are the dates you pay for. We do offer a late check-out time or early check-in time, but this must be agreed at the time of booking and a charge will be incurred if this is not arranged and you check in earlier or check out later than the time expected an extra fee will be applied. We also offer an out-of-hours check-in/out (as long it is a reasonable hour) again this must be agreed at the time of booking and incurs an additional out-of-hours charge. Normal check-in is from 2.30pm - 4.30pm, and normal check-out is between 9.30am - 11.30am. Our opening hours are 9.30am – 11.30am and 2.30pm – 4.30pm. We are currently operating on an appointment only system so if you arrive outside your appointment time you will be required to wait until we can deal with you.

We always recommend you bring your own dog food as it’s less change for your dog. However, we do stock an excellent quality dry dog food product, should you require your dog(s) to be on anything else please bring it with you, we provide some treats but again if you want your dog(s) to have specific treats please bring them with you. No reduction in cost is made if you supply your pet's own food. If your dog(s) does not eat our food and extra food must be given this will incur an additional cost.

Our rooms are designed and furnished for the comfort of your dog(s) to give them a homely environment, you must inform us if your dog is destructive and, in such cases, your own bedding must be brought in with them. Any damage caused to our rooms or furniture/bedding will be charged for at full cost to the repair or replacement of the damage caused.
If your dog(s) is on any medication, a supply long enough for their holiday with us must be brought with them, plus a little bit extra in case you are delayed. We require full details of any pre-existing condition and reserve the right to consult a veterinary surgeon should we feel it necessary. The owner will be responsible for the cost of this and of any medication. By agreeing to our terms and conditions gives us your consent to do so. All dogs(s) are insured during their stay with us however our insurance does not cover any pre-existing or ongoing conditions requiring veterinary care. If you or your emergency contact is not contactable in the case of an emergency any treatment given will be at the discretion of our vet in the best interest of your dog(s). If your dog(s) is over 10 years old or in a frail condition, please ensure you fill in the ‘senior frail’ form when booking in.

We reserve the right to refuse to board any dog(s) that is clearly unwell or in a very poor condition, if they are aggressive towards our staff, destructive or purely have not settled with us on a previous holiday.
The following dogs are on the dangerous dogs list and as such are forbidden by our license and insurance to have them stay with us: Fila Brasiliero, Argetntine Dogo, Pit Bull terrier and Japanese Tosa, XL bulldogs. Also, any variation of cross containing these breeds.
You must also inform us if your dog(s);

  • is likely to jump out of a 6ft fenced area, so extra precaution can be taken

  • if you do not wish for them to be socialized with other dogs

  • if they are destructive

Any owner requiring that their dog(s) share accommodation does so at their own risk. We want their holiday experience with us to be pleasurable so if dogs sharing a room are not getting along, we will separate them if needs be and this will incur an extra cost for the extra room. Only dogs from the same household are permitted to share the same room. Dogs sharing a room must be neutered.

If your dog does not settle with us after a few days, we will require them to be collected, this can be either yourself or your emergency contact, this is for their own well-being, we will not let any dog become stressed and upset during their stay with us.

By agreeing to these terms and conditions you also agree to us using any photos or video of your dog(s) on our website or for promotional purposes. In the case of home security, we will not post any current pictures of your dog(s) on Facebook or our website whilst you are away.

The webcams in the rooms are available for you to use 24/7 at no extra charge. We also monitor the dogs throughout the evening. If you feel there is an emergency during the night, please feel free to call us so we can check on your dog(s), (emergencies only) If, however, it is not a genuine emergency then a charge of £50 will be made between the hours of 9pm - 7.30am. Please be mindful of any time differences if traveling abroad. In the event of the Dog and Spoon having interruption to the internet we cannot guarantee access to the cameras.

COVID-19, SARS or any mutation – We are not insured for this.
If your holiday has been cancelled for whatever reason, then the full booking fees will still be required to be paid. Unless you give us 30 days' notice.

The admin fee for securing the booking is purely that, it only applies to the booking made at the time. It is non-refundable and non-transferable.

We're encouraging people to have our fees covered on your travel/holiday or pet insurance, so you have some protection, if you choose not to do this the fees (as mentioned above) are still required to be paid.

By paying your admin fee of £50 when booking you agree to all our terms and conditions above, no exceptions will be made.
